Full Gameplay Rebalance DYNAMIC DAMAGE and CONFIG PRESET
A common issue with CP77 is that the beginning of the game is too hard, and endgame is too easy. “Hard” is definitely subjective, but what I’m trying to say is that the difficulty curve starts off pretty aggressive and only gets easier from there. While FGR does a great job in minimizing this, the issue is still present. I’ve created a script that dynamically adjusts your incoming and outgoing damage depending on your level, so the beginning is FAIR (not to be confused with “easy”) and endgame is more challenging. Once the player exceeds level 15, the script no longer effects V’s incoming damage and the game difficulty is fully controlled by FGR’s config file.
What’s included in this mod?
An archive file that tweaks the NPC damage and health curves, making the game more of a challenge as you level up. Not by a crazy amount though.
A script that dynamically adjusts V’s INCOMING damage from lvl 1 to lvl 15, slowly easing-up as you level up and eventually ceasing to do anything.
A script that dynamically adjusts V’s OUTGOING damage to ensure that all non-DoT attacks do certain percentage of the target’s health if the original damage was extremely ineffective, plus the initial unmodified damage to ensure that weak/fast weapons cannot be abused or favored. The reason I’ve included this is because the config file has Minibosses enabled and they’re extremely difficult in the beginning without this tweak. Because it focuses on percentage damage, this mostly doesn’t affect non-boss NPCs because your normal damage already exceeds the threshold for this script to kick-in.
A FGR config file designed to work well with the archive and script.
How to install:
If installing manually, simply drag and drop. You may want to save a backup of your FGR config file in case you change your mind, as this mod will overwrite it. Alternatively, you can skip the overwrite if you’re confident that your setup will work. I’ve also included a duplicate config file on the “Presets” folder in case you change your mind again and want my config back.
If installing via Vortex, install it like you normally would – HOWEVER, Vortex will NOT overwrite FGR’s config file so if you want to use my config file you should right-click on FGR in your Vortex mod manager and select “Open in File Manager” and manually overwrite FGR’s config file with mine.
Fair Use Disclaimer:
All of the files included in this mod do not rely on FGR directly, and technically work on their own with the exception of the Config file. However, the mod author of FGR has stated we’re free to upload our own Config files, so that’s covered too. I do not recommend using this mod without FGR, because while it technically works, your game balance will be funky.
