Companion mod
A simple companion mod, makes the target follow you as a companion upon button press.
Heavily WIP atm. Experimental version.
This mod requires Cyberpunk Engine Tweaks 1.8.4 or higher in order to work!
This mod is still heavily WIP, which means bugs are possible, and you can also potentially mess up the game progress (by turning a boss NPC into companion, making them unkillable; the issue will be gone on newer CET when I’ll be able to revert the roles)! Currently the mod spawns the flathead to steal its follower role and modifies it before applying it onto NPC’s and changing NPC states to turn them into followers. This will be swapped out in newer mod versions as both CET and mod develop further. Currently turning the companion into normal NPC is not possible, and will cause a game flatline if attempted. However, it should work fine once we will be able to define roles ourselves, rather than scrapping them from flathead!
Also, do note that normal NC Citizens disappear after leaving a certain area! Only some NPC’s are persistent, that should include: street vendors, shop keepers, NCPD [static ones], main characters [Judy and Panam have issues with this after you finish their story fully, trying to fix this], and some of the enemy NPC’s. This means that only those will save as companions on game restart, and only those are able to follow you to the other side of the map, while the rest disappear after you leave their area, or reload the game!
And one more thing, most of the NPC’s do not have a weapon in their inventory on spawn, this could possibly be modded later on [if I’ll have enough time to do this] to provide them with some weaponry if they have none, so that they can help you at all times. Another thing worth noting is that most of them do quite weak damage, but once newer version of the mod is out (and things like militech AV can become your permanent companion), this should no longer be an issue because some of them pack quite a punch.
