Night City Tattoos

Want a tattoo you can call your own? No idea where to start? Well, now there’s a mod for that!
(Including: .psd layout templates, .pdf guides and tips with visual aids, a collection of resource images, TEST mods, and extracted dds/xbm game files)

Various files to assist in the process of altering the vanilla tattoo designs available in the Character Creator (CC) and/or replacing them with custom ones.

Different types of files available:
– DIY Custom Tattoo Layout Templates (.psd)
– Resource Images (quality/file size options)
– TEST MODS (.archive)
– Original TEXTURE files extracted from the game archives (both body & face for M/F)

DIY Custom Tattoo Layout Templates
* I made a couple of templates to help the process of adding a custom design to the body &/or face of both males and females.
* These are .psd files to be used in Photoshop.
* Each template includes an active BLANK BASE layer where you can add your own design plus a BUNCH of other inactive LAYOUT layers. (see IMAGES section for examples)
* All layers can be turned on/off individually as needed to assist in the placement of your custom design on the layout of your choosing.
* I’ve also included a .pdf ‘Basic Guide & Tips’ (with images for visual aids) as well as a .pdf for ‘Help with File Names’ in the template folders.
(I am not here to teach everyone how to use the many tools available in Photoshop. With that said, I understand everyone has to start somewhere so I have tried to make this as detailed and user friendly as possible for those who are inexperienced with PS and modding in general. I do not plan on making a youtube tutorial video but if someone else would like to that would be awesome. I will happily add it to this mod page with proper credits if you want to contact me.)
* You will also find a couple of folders that are set up with the proper file paths needed when it is time to use CP77Tools to make your .archive file. In the textures sub-folders you will find a .xbm file for added convenience.

!! You will need to use CP77 Tools BY: rfuzzo in order to get your creation into the game !!

Resource Images
* Images of all 5 body tattoo options and 11 face tattoo options on both male and female characters taken in the CC.
* I added a black background to each of the tattoo .dds files that essentially put an outline around each of the designs which is visible on the body in-game. This is simply to better showcase the restrictions and differences between each mesh and the work space available in each of the layouts.
* There are also images where each tattoo design was fully replaced by a color graph to give a different option of how to see the way the texture translates onto the mesh. This also allows the mirror effect that some designs have to be more visible. Hopefully it will help to give a better reference for a more accurate design placement within the layouts.
* Though I did try to keep the focus on the tattoos and minimize the nudity (even turned off nipples and penis, sorry guys) a good amount of the images are still NSFW in order to show the full extent of the tattoo designs/layouts.

I am putting up multiple file options so you can download whatever works best for you:

Tattoo Reference Images = *MAIN FILES*
Includes both ‘Black Background’ & ‘Color Graph’ images.
Each file includes both M/F.
Separate files for body and face.

Tattoo Reference Images -HQ (‘Black Background’ / ‘Color Graph’) = *OPTIONAL FILES*
Higher Quality images (much larger files but bigger and clearer images)
Each file includes both M/F.
Each file includes both body and face images.

Tattoo Reference Images -HQ (M/F) = *OPTIONAL FILES*
Higher Quality images (much larger files but bigger and clearer images)
Includes both ‘Black Background’ & ‘Color Graph’ images.
Includes both body and face images.
PICK the specific gender file you need.

* Each image is labeled with the corresponding value from the file name found in the game archives.
* Body tattoos have the same value number in CC as the files.
* Face tattoo game file names DO NOT match CC values so I labeled each image with both.

EXAMPLE:
Image Name: FaceTat 01 (07cc)
Original File Name: head_tattoo__customisation_01
CC Option: #07

!!THESE FILES ARE IMAGES ONLY, NOT A MOD THAT NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED INTO YOUR GAME!!

TEST mods
* If anyone is interested in seeing either the ‘Black Background ‘ designs or ‘Color Graph ‘ replacements in-game for themselves I am adding a MISCELLANEOUS file that includes both
* Simply ensure that the .archive file of the option you want to TEST is in your patch folder.
* DO NOT have both files that affect the same area installed at once!
(EX: basegame_TestBodyTat_BLK-set.archive & basegame_TestBodyTat_COLORgrid-set.archive)

Install:
Extract the .rar and put the .archive file inside the patch folder at the end of the mods path.
(If the “patch” folder doesn’t exist, create it yourself!)

Steam:
\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\patch

GOG:
\GOGLibrary\Games\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\patch

Epic:
\EpicLibrary\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\patch

Uninstall:
Delete the .archive added by THIS MOD from patch folder. (path above)

!!THESE ARE FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY AND NOT MEANT TO BE OFFICIAL REPLACEMENTS!!

Original Texture Files – Extracted from Game Archive
* This is for anyone who is interested in having the original TEXTURE .dds & .xbm files but doesn’t want to go through the process of extracting them personally. –look under MISCELLANEOUS files–
* I’ve only included the files for the tattoos available in character creation.
* You can use these to alter vanilla designs or however else you like but please realize that on their own these files will do nothing and ARE NOT a mod.
